The Starter Kit is designed for those wishing to form a nonprofit corporation in the State of Washington. It covers incorporation, tax exempt status application, board recruiting advice and more. See below for details.
After an initial complimentary meeting with our tax expert who decides if your purpose will pass the IRS's scrutiny, an appointment is set up with our nonprofit attorney who prepares incorporation paperwork and files with the Secretary of State Washington State. Included are:
The Master Business License and Charitable Organization Registration form will be completed. You have had your first board meeting where bylaws were adopted, conflict of interest policy distributed and signed, banking arrangements finalized and officers (president, vice president, treasurer, secretary) elected. We now start work on preparing the Form 1023/1024 application.
In order to complete the application, we will need to prepare, with your input, financial statements (P & L and Balance Sheet), a narrative of the services you will provide, a list of all of your board members (names and addresses), list of staff and their compensation, a fundraising plan and other information as applicable and needed.
If required, our consultants can assist with creating:
Form 1023 is now complete and all the applicable attachments are assembled. The packet is sent to Clark Nuber where a tax manager does a final review. Once the tertiary check is complete, the entire package, including the client's check for $600 payable to the IRS is mailed to the government.
If an expedite is needed, a letter is composed explaining why and FedEx is used. Extra charges apply.
The IRS could have follow up questions. The starter kit includes addressing these questions and composing a response. If the time to respond to these questions, exceeds two hours, then the client will be billed at $125 per hour.
